For this tutorial, we’ll increase width and height by 2 pixels each (one on each side; one on top and one on the bottom), anchored to the center and (very important) it is a Relative increase.
-> If you choose Relative you’ll just enter the number of pixel, inches, etc. you’ll add or remove. You don’t choose Relative you’ll enter the total pixels you want to have in the new size. For example: if we didn’t choose Relative we’d have to put 252 (250 + 2) pixels in the width value to get the same result.
Finally, we pick white in the Canvas extension color.
Click OK.
Step 8
This is what you get. A simple 1 pixel white outline automatically created.
Let’s go on!
Step 9
We will repeat steps 6 and 7 using other settings.
Go to menu Image > Canvas Size again.
For this tutorial, this are the values I used:
Relative, 60 pixel width and height, center anchor and Black.
Click OK.
This is the final image, cropped and framed!
